Woodland Play Therapy CIC Nature-based Therapeutic Skills Training
Pollok Country Park, Glasgow, Scotland
On this course you will strengthen your bond with nature as co-therapist, and learn skills to deepen your practice outdoors. This is a hands-on experiential course, delivered online and in person. This training will develop your skills to support the holistic development of the client groups and individuals you work with outside.

What’s in the course?
- What nature-based practice means and what to consider for your locations
- Exploration of nature as co-therapist
- Meaning of attachment to place in nature based settings
- Understanding the core principles of nature based Play Therapy
- Effective communication with children and participants with social and emotional needs
- Relevance of child centred and child led play in outdoor settings
- Setting appropriate boundaries for the setting and for the model
- Managing containment
- Managing confidentiality
This is delivered as a two day, in-person course with one online session, to a total of 11 hours teaching time, and expected 4 hours of self study.

Our training will take place in the beautiful surroundings of Pollok Country Park in the Southside of Glasgow. The indoor venue is a warm, light spacious room, and you can see more of it here yogabarnglasgow.co.uk/location.
Parts of the days trainings will be taking place in the woodlands nearby, so please come dressed for all weathers with comfy sturdy boots and be prepared to get a little muddy.
