The Professional Practice Team works to ensure that BAPT continues to provide clear high standards of clinical excellence for BAPT Play Therapists, Supervisors and Students. The Professional Practice Team has five core roles:
BAPT Ethical Standards and Core Competencies
The Professional Practice Team are responsible for updating and maintaining the clear and coherent standards which all BAPT Play Therapists, Supervisors and Students must uphold within their own day to day work. These standards and competencies are the basis for all of our Play Therapy Training, Clinical Supervision, ongoing Professional Registration and Continuing Professional Development. They cover not only the necessary knowledge and experience required to safely and effectively practice Play Therapy but also a commitment to a set of key personal qualities. BAPT Professional Practice Policies
The Professional Practice Team generate all of BAPT’s Core Foundation Policies, from Safeguarding Children to Data Protection and from Equal Opportunities to Professional Conduct. To access BAPT’s Core Policies please use the links below.
External Policy Consultation
The Professional Practice Team works with both national and regional governments and organisations to contribute to the development of relevant legislation, policies and guidance. The Team also engages with other smaller organisations to assist in the development of their individual therapeutic practice policies. National Clinical Policy Dissemination
The Professional Practice Team are the conduit for disseminating National Clinical Policy to our BAPT Play Therapists, Supervisors and Students. This includes guidance from recognised health organisations, such as the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) in addition to international pieces of work from the European Court of Human Rights and the World Health Organisation.
